Miss Connecticut Jillian Duffy, a Lewis S. Mills High School graduate, will crown her successor when the 2021 pageant takes place at Mohegan Sun on April 10-11.
Duffy, Miss Connecticut, and Frangu, Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen, have held their titles for nearly two years. But the duo did not greedily refuse to give up their crowns and sashes. Instead, world events undermined their best efforts to finally welcome their successors.

The pandemic has forced Mohegan Sun to cancel one of its largest and most successful annual events, the Sun Wine & Food Fest.
Over the past 17 years, the Sun Wine & Food Fest has grown into a four-day, multi-event festival drawing 10,000 visitors to the Uncasville, Conn., casino. Events stretch from the Uncas Ballroom to the much larger Earth Expo & Convention Center.
“This difficult decision was made in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, as keeping the community safe takes precedence,” organizers said in a statement on Monday.
