Ukrainian Deputy Health Minister, Chief Medical Officer Viktor Liashko says Ukrainian citizens residing in Russia-occupied parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and Crimea will be able to get vaccinated against COVID-19 in Ukraine for free. The vaccination will be conducted on a voluntary basis.

Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov says the ministry does not regulate shipments of a COVID-19 vaccine onto the commercial market, however, he expects it may become commercially available no earlier than summer. Communicating, in particular, with vaccine producers and knowing how countries impose curbs on the commercial market, restricting exports, it seems to me this will not happen earlier than summer, he said during a morning TV show Snidanok z 1+1 on February 2, 2021.
According to Stepanov, the price of a COVID vaccine will vary depending on a producer. The quotations we have received regarding vaccines started at US$7 per dose, and ended at over US$33, the minister added.

Ukraine will launch the vaccination campaign in February. Therefore, we will have vaccines in two weeks. Our country has been included in the list of countries that will receive COVID-19 vaccines from the global COVAX Facility in the first rounds of [vaccine] distribution, he said at a briefing on Monday, an UNIAN correspondent reported. The delivery of these vaccines to Ukraine will begin in two weeks, he added.

Speaking in an interview for Ukraine s TSN TV news service, he said the module would be comprehensively tested in healthcare information systems on February 10.

The Ukrainian Health Ministry has signed a contract for the supply of China s Sinovac Biotech COVID-19 vaccine to Ukraine.
The ministry has been negotiating with Sinovac since September, according to the president s press service.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the contract had been signed with an experienced vaccine manufacturer. The main thing is that we have carried out a very active multi-month negotiation work and have received concrete results. We will start a large-scale state-run vaccination program soon. We desperately need to protect high-risk social groups, and the state will definitely fulfill this task, the president said.
