Scientists have revealed that the use of sensors in agricultural farming has increased the growth and yield manifold, and has also significantly reduced the costs of production. A sensor is a device that can accumulate information and convert it to electrical signals or other forms of output as required. Owing to the advancement of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, sensor applications in agriculture and other industries have increased rapidly.   There are different kinds of sensors, such as temperature, humidity, soil content, soil moisture, soil pH, light intensity, and pathogenic infestation that are used in the agricultural system. These sensors can monitor different stages of plant growth and the conditions under which they are grown.
