TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - Amanda Gorman, the nationâs first youth poet laureate, captivated the world at Joe Bidenâs inauguration on Wednesday.
âIt was exactly what this country needed at this point in time,â said Elaine A. Powers, the president of the Tucson Poetry Society.
Powers is also a poet herself, and said she was amazed by Gormanâs writing.
âI thought the inauguration struck the right tone of coming together as a United States of America and putting aside our differences and welcoming each other,â Powers said.
