TRUMAN St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church will be holding a New Year’s Eve service at 5 p.m. this evening.
Truman City Council will meet 5:30 p.m. Monday at the municipal building. The newly elected candidates will take their oath of office. Welcome to Terry Bentele, our mayor elect, and Patty Truax to our city council.
Recycling day is Wednesday. The recycling cart should be placed curbside by 7 a.m. with all cardboard broke down and placed inside the cart. Please note that wrapping paper is not acceptable.
Martin County Pork Producers Ambassador Scholarship is open to high school seniors and college students to age 21. The scholarship is available for any student whose family is part of the industry in Martin County or is pursuing an ag-related field. Deadline to apply is Jan. 12, 2021. TRUMAN Tomorrow is Ugly Sweater Day. Even if you won’t be going out, just put on that ugly sweater and make yourself smile.
STEP, Inc. wants your old Christmas lights. You may drop your lights off at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman. The collection bin is located inside the entryway to the office on the east side of the building. Reduce waste by dropping off old or broken holiday lights. Saturday is the day to fly your flag at half-staff to honor those we have lost to COVID-19. Governor Tim Walz has requested us to do this as a way of showing the families that have lost a loved one that we care.
