First a state of emergency in alabama after two powerful tornadoes tore through the eastern part of the state killing at least 23 people and injuring dozens more. According to the National Weather service the first tornado was half a mile wide or more, lee county sheriff described the damage as catastrophic. The governor has declared a statewide emergency. On twitter President Trump urged residents to be careful and safe. Rescue crews used drones last night to search for survivors but the effort was scaled back due to dangerous conditions.
