We have a 35yearold organization in the city providing programs and recreation and Leadership Development programs to low income children and their families. Mostly in the mission district. I am also a mother of there e girls in San Francisco schools. The oldest of which is graduating from the high school. Im here to support the recommends of the children Funding Community coalition and wanted to zero in on 3 specifically that are important for jamestown. No. 1 is to increase the fund. The increase is fairly small and im speaking as a homeowner in district 7 and you will hear repeatedlly about evidence and investment in the enrichment in childrens lives and providing services around them will provide all sorts of savings not to mention we are investing in the lives of human beings and how wonderful is that. And, so, i would like to see some activity around creative sources of funding for affordable and accessible housing that might include and that exploration was also hit on number 11 in that i think that developers, tenants rights advocates, disability advocates, advocates for families, for the poor, as well developers, city staff, and even, even the Financial Community be included in a search for some some solutions to this ever declining pot that we have. Its hard to reach any of these goals without money and i know thats the hardest part. But thats my suggestion. I would go with number 6 because recently in the news theres been a lot of problems with the elevators. So, thats a very serious concern. For someone for elevators to be out that long and someone living on the top floors, theres really not much of a life for them. And what if there are emergencies, how do you expect them to get down . I think elevators are a big priority. Ive even seen that in the private nonprofit right now
Too and from Silicon Valley. Landlords are pulling out the welcome mat, long termed residents are priced out of their neighbourhoods, and its a precautionary tail for the rest of the company. We have more on the battle by the bay. Its a fight for the sole of San Francisco. These protesters target google buses. The large shuttles ferrying tens of thousands of tech workers to Silicon Valley. This is the third protest, the first along the tech corridor. Organizers tell us they are about to save a massive disturbance. Protesters say the 1400 buses that rumble through the city park illegal lie at public bus stops and are turning San Francisco into an overpriced Bedroom Community forcing out longterm residents. The Tech Industry needs to do more to stop the placement. We met nice employees of google, standing on the shuttle. Obviously they worked hard to get to where they are.
