But Ekiti State First Lady, Erelu Bisi Fayemi thinks otherwise, writes Victor Ogunje Most appalling has been the fact that most of the proponents of feminism on the African continent, had painted an erroneous impression that it was a muscle-flexing game between the two opposing sexes and a desperate contrivance to bring men under control and suppress their chauvinistic posturing. But, for Erelu Bisi Fayemi, the First Lady of Ekiti State, her brand of feminism negates this belligerent disposition and invidious perception. This connotes women’s emancipation efforts bereft of venomous hatred for the male gender purposely, because of age-long patriarchal advantage they enjoyed.

Advertisement In yet another recognition of her commitment to nation building and general improvement in socio-economic circumstances of humanity in a public service career spanning over 25 years, the Lagos State University will this Thursday conferred Honorary Doctor of Arts (Poverty Alleviation and Technology Incubation) Degree on Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals. The conferment of the doctorate degree is a fitting honour for Orelope-Adefulire who began her political journey during the Third Republic with her election as a member of the Lagos House of Assembly to represent Alimosho Constituency 1, between Jan. 1992 and Nov. 1993, thus becoming the first female lawmaker in the State.

LASU honours Buhari s aide,Orelope-Adefulire with Doctorate Degree -

By Joseph Erunke The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, Princess Adejoke Orelope Adefulire, who was honoured by the Lagos State University, LASU, with an Honourary Doctorate Degree of Arts, said she has dedicated the award to youths and women. Orelope Adefulire said this while giving her acceptance speech after the conferment of the Honorary Doctor of Arts (Poverty Alleviation and Technology Incubation) Degree on her at the 24th Convocation Ceremony of LASU at the institution’s main campus in Ojo Lagos, Thursday. She thanked the management of the university for deeming her worthy of the award.
