He urged the House leadership to include in its next year’s priority list the proposed “Trans-Fat Free Philippines Act”.
“We hope that the Trans-fat Free Philippines bill will be tackled in the House plenary early January 2021,” Ong, one of the principal authors of the bill, said in a text message.
“We are looking forward as well to the help of our experts on how we can transition to totally eliminating TFA and what healthy but affordable alternatives are available for the industry. Let’s find the right balance and timing in finally making the Philippines trans-fat free.”
