probably realized this is going to generate worldwide attention. it s a synagogue. and there s always those sensitive issues attached to that. and if that s what his motivation is, if that s what he s thinking, well, then he s getting what he s playing into. the fact that it even came to the attention of the president of the united states, the attention of israel. i think he made if that s what he was looking to do, then he, you know, achieved that objective, certainly. hey, jack, this is joey jones here. you know, being in the military and having a little bit of training on not the same kind of situation, but similar situations, i would have to imagine you re looking for a peaceful surrender of the person. that s what you re perp, that s what you re planning towards. but you re also gathering information, learning what you can going on inside that building. what factors would have to change, what would have to change or happen for that second route to become the primary, for t
kind of military aid do you think ukraine needs right now? ed hit on it quite well. they need as much small arms replenishment as possible. they need stingers, they need javelins, we re talking anti-aircraft and anti-tank weapons and anti-personnel weapons. right now what we re looking at is the possibility not only of protected urban combat, but also potentially a protracted guerrilla war. if that happens, it is those types of weapons used are the ones that the ukrainians would need. these are things that you have written and talked about, these are guns. these are things that someone could pick up and use, they wouldn t need extensive training on. exactly. that s exactly right. right now it s too late to train them on the patriot missile anti-missile and anti-air system. you would have difficulty training them on modern u.s. or european jet aircraft, fighter aircraft. so that s the kind of thing that
gunfire. though, those were the most memorable to me. and looking at a picture that you took of what looks like a bullet hole with a lot of chairs piled up. what is that image of? um, we made this barricade and there was a bullet hole that shot through our door. so, the shooter was close enough to actually shoot into your classroom, through through the door? yes. wow. you know, when you say you went into lockdown, what actually did you do? i mean, obviously, you are in a classroom and i know you have had training on on this. do you try to hide in different places? do you try to what s the instruction? basically, we locked the door. we have the jammer called a night lock. we barricade it as best as we can.
the only sound of gunfire that you heard? um, there may have been other gunfire. though, those were the most memorable to me. and looking at a picture that you took of what looks like a bullet hole with a lot of chairs piled up. what is that image of? um, we made this barricade and there was a bullet hole that shot through our door. so, the shooter was close enough to actually shoot into your classroom, through through the door? yes. wow. you know, when you say you went into lockdown, what actually did you do? i mean, obviously, you are in a classroom and i know you have had training on on this. do you try to hide in different places? do you try to what s the instruction? basically, we locked the door. we have the jammer called a
well, that will be interesting to see. but we have very poor gun laws, in fact, for all practical purposes, we really don t have any meaningful gun laws. for example, you have got a 17-year-old kid. he s got an ar-15 or assault weapon. you can buy a gun in this country and there is no requirement for you to get any kind of training at all on how to handle that gun or any training on the law in terms of when you you can actually use that ghun against another perso and everyone has hair their one own idea about when you can use deadly force. that is something police have hundreds and hundreds hours on training on. and the average person who buys a gun, get nothing. so there is a lot that needs to be done not just trying to control firearms but just making sure they are in the hands of responsible people who really understand when and where and how they can use it. well, judge, there is also having a gun, which i i mean, it s legal. i have no problem with that as long as you do it a
