No social impact assessment yet for Msida flyovers

A Social Impact Assessment on a project set to include two 175m flyovers and three pedestrian bridges has not yet been commissioned on a call for tenders for the proposed Msida flyover.
Mentor area residents will get more than just a new grocery option with a project proposed on the old Sawyer House site.
The plan also includes adding a new traffic signal and widening Route 20 in front of the property, at 9470 Mentor Ave.
Itâs no secret that turning left into or out of the site is often difficult on the busy thoroughfare. A traffic impact study was required during the Mentor Planning Commission process.

âThe city has reviewed the Traffic Impact Study prepared for the project and confirms the need for a traffic signal, which will include a left-turn lane into the site,â said a staff report to the commission. âThe traffic signal will be tied to the Wayside Drive traffic signalization. The evaluation of traffic management in front of the site will continue under the direction of the City Administration and in cooperation with the project developer.â
