Council appears to take action on firing Clauson

LINCOLN – During a closed-door session Tuesday on the performance and possible employment termination of an undisclosed employee, former Town Clerk Monique Clauson, who was arrested in December and subsequently placed on leave from her job, slipped out of the room and quietly exited Town Hall. Clauson, who served as town clerk and municipal court clerk, was arrested in December on charges of misappropriating approximately $69,000 in town funds for her personal use between 2011 and 2020. She was placed on leave after her arrest while State Police investigated the matter. Prior to her departure from the building Tuesday, she and attorneys met with councilors for nearly an hour.

Committee questions new administrative wing amenities

3/31/2021 Committee questions new administrative wing amenities Officials are in the process of moving Lincoln’s school administrative offices to Lincoln High School from the former Lincoln Memorial School on Lonsdale Avenue, pictured. (Breeze photo by Nicole Dotzenrod) LINCOLN – Building Committee members, left out of the loop on a planned move of district administrative offices to the reconstructed Lincoln High School campus, are questioning plans for the space, including a new IT space and private restroom. Members of the LHS Building Committee recently expressed frustration that they’d been shut out of the administrative move process completely, and didn’t realize the move was back on the table after it was deferred early in the construction process due to lack of funds.

Denied by Planning Board, Lincoln developer appeals to state

LINCOLN – After the so-called Breakneck Hollow development was denied by the Lincoln Planning Board, the team behind the proposed affordable housing project is hoping to reverse the decision through an appeal to the State Housing Appeals Board. Women’s Development Corp. first pitched the project in June of 2018, calling for a two-building, 44-unit affordable housing complex to be built on a 12-acre property located across from the MacColl YMCA on Breakneck Hill Road. By the end of 2018, Town Planner Al Ranaldi had issued a certificate of non-completeness, the first in his tenure as planner, to effectively stop the proposed development from moving forward to the Planning Board.
