Skateboarder killed after being hit by a car Sunday night

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY, N.Y. A Chautauqua County man is dead after being hit by a car while riding a skateboard.
New York State Police say the accident happened shortly after 9 p.m. on State Route 430 in the Chautauqua County Town of Ellery.
Troopers say 19-year-old driver was traveling westbound on State Rt. 430 and struck 22-year-old Bannon Eimiller of Bemus Point who was also in the westbound lane.

TOWN OF ELLERY, N.Y. (WKBW) â New York State police say a skateboarder was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Chautauqua County Sunday.
Police say troopers from Jamestown responded to State Route 430 in the Town of Ellery around 9:00 p.m. Sunday. Investigation revealed a vehicle traveling westbound struck 22-year-old Bannon L. Eimiller of Bemus Point who was riding his skateboard in the westbound lane.
According to NYSP, troopers attempted lifesaving measures until paramedics arrived but Eimiller was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to ECMC.
Chautauqua County Releases List of 2021 Road and Bridge Work
Chautauqua County will be paving 22 miles of county roads and rehabilitating or replacing over 18 bridges as part of the 2021 construction program. County Executive

Brad Bentley said this year’s program makes use of County forces, contracted labor, and shared services.
Wendel said $4-point-5 million dollars is budgeted for county highway and bridge capital work under the CHIPS and PAVE NY programs, with the County expecting to receive an additional $2-point-1 million dollars as part of funding increases to CHIPS, PAVE NY, and Extreme Weather Programs from the most recent New York State budget.
