Retribution, a sense that these are somehow deeply immoral actors that we want to submit to the harshest possible conditions. I think we are now seeing the ansequences of what i feel is misguided strategy that we are somehow expecting for the 2 million individuals currently have in prison, if we can exposed them to psychologically brutal conditions, and then release them into the streets, successbe a policy for and a strategy to reduce crime.
