Jeffrey Ray Fawkes, 58, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Community Hospice in Vidalia, Georgia.
He was born on March 3, 1962 in Olney, Illinois to Vanita Jean (Shaw) and Fred William Fawkes. Jeff married Tonya Robinson in Olney, Illinois on May 21, 1988.
Jeff graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering and an Associate Degree in Business Management. Jeff worked as a Nuclear Engineer for various companies, lastly working for Exelon Clinton Power Station out of Clinton, Illinois, first as a Systems Engineer then as a Site Maintenance Rule Coordinator. Jeff was a member of Pi Tau Sigma, Mechanical Engineering Honor Society, and Tau Beta Pi-Fraternity of Engineers. Jeff was a very talented musician, playing drums with various bands and in clubs from his teens through his twenties. He loved spending time with his family and his six precious grandchildren.
MURRAY â At its final meeting of the year, the Calloway County Fiscal Court on Wednesday approved the 2021 budgets for the county clerkâs and sheriffâs offices, as well as voting to purchase a new truck for the road department.
Before passing next yearâs budget for the Calloway County Sheriffâs Office, the court approved the amended 2020 budget to account for Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funds that were received. The court also approved a change for the 2020 maximum amount the sheriff could expend from fees for deputies, assistants and other employees. That amount includes overtime, vacations, holiday pay and any other personnel expenditures. It was previously set at $1.3 million, and Sheriff Nicky Knight asked the court to increase that amount to $1.46 million.

Texas Roadhouse has promoted Regional Market Partner Jerry Morgan to President of the Louisville-based restaurant company, effective January of 2021.
Morgan, who will relocate to Louisville, will report directly to Kent Taylor who will continue to serve as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board. Taylor had assumed the role of President when the role was vacated in June of 2019.
Taylor commented, “Going from three jobs to two, will allow me to focus my additional time, energy, and creativity on our future growth, such as establishing Bubba’s 33 and Jaggers as segment leaders and expanding our retail initiatives, including Butcher Shop and our new Margarita Mix. I also want to expand our To-Go operations and have several other ideas that I think will propel Texas Roadhouse into the next decade.”
