Todd Correia, chosen to be acting fire chief beginning Jan. 8, has been deputy chief since July 2015 and has 27 years of experience with the Fairhaven Fire Department. He will finish with the assessment portion of his chief’s civil service exam by next year.
“I know I’m leaving the department in good hands,” said Francis, who’s been grooming and mentoring Correia to be fire chief the last several years.
