A Maytown man set multiple fires outside a Lancaster city home, then fled police twice when they tried to stop him, according to Lancaster city police.
Lancaster police are looking for a man suspected of setting three fires.Charles Cieslik, 40, of Lancaster, is charged with arson, aggravated assault and related offenses.Investigators said Lancaster Safety Coalition surveillance video helped them identify him.According to police, surveillance photos show Cieslek walking to and from the fire scenes, carrying a plastic bag with what appears to be a gas can in it.In one photo, police said, Cieslek watches one of the fires.Police said Cieslik set a roll of paper towels on fire and threw it into the vestibule of a home on the 100 block of South Prince Street around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday.Shortly before 1:45 a.m. Thursday, Cieslik set fire to an air conditioner on the front porch of a home on the 400 block of Beaver Street, police said.After firefighters extinguished that fire, Cieslik allegedly came back and started another fire on the porch.Police said Cieslik knew the victims.
