Florida Congressman and gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist made a campaign stop in West Palm Beach on Thursday.
Crist, a Democrat and Florida s one-time Republican governor, is on his Voting Rights tour.
He hosted a roundtable with Florida Senator Tina Polksy in attendance, along with local activists, opening up with a prayer for the dead in a double murder-suicide at a Palm Beach County Publix.
The
Palm Beach Post reports that Crist then called out Florida s new election law as a horrific Republican assault on voting rights.
It was the first visit to the area by either of the big-name candidates running for the Democrat nomination in next year s race for governor.
