Chiles student Macey Hartman is one of first female Eagle Scouts

When Macey Hartman moved back to the United States after growing up in Europe for eight years, it took her a while to find a group of friends in Tallahassee that she clicked with. “My dad was in the Navy, so we deployed as a family and lived in Portugal, Italy, and France,” she says. “It was great to learn about different cultures and gain a broad view of different kinds of people.” She soon found that her love of the outdoors, adventure, and challenge drew her to scouting. Macey is one of Tallahassee’s 5 Young Women to Watch for 2021.
