Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to provide extra support to get homeless off streets in Newark and Sherwood  | Updated: 11:44, 29 December 2020 Extra support is to be made available for the homeless in Newark and Sherwood thanks to a government grant. The district council has secured £22,846 from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to provide additional support and advice for homeless people and rough sleepers through the government’s Next Steps Accommodation Programme. Porchlight say rough sleeping hasn t changed since they set up 45 years ago (43468255) The money will be used to provide winter night shelter provision to all those identified as rough sleeping in Newark and Sherwood between November 2020 and March 2021.
