PANAMA CITY BEACH Local leaders plan to spend about $250,000 to improve crosswalks on the Beach.
According to Panama City Beach City Councilman Paul Casto, the renovations were sparked by a Panama City Beach Police Department study that identified about a dozen areas on Front Beach Road with an uptick in vehicle-pedestrian accidents. I think it s another example of tremendous growth and us having growing pains and having to keep up with the additional influx of tourists and residents, Casto said of what he believes leads to the majority of the crashes. We want to make sure we do all we can to keep our citizens and our tourists safe.
