Letters: Pupils have been sent a clear signal that their learning is not a priority

30 June 2021 • 12:02am Year 11 students of the BBG Academy in West Yorkshire prepare for their prize giving ceremony and graduation Credit: Christopher Furlong/Getty Images SIR – What threat to society does a child with asymptomatic Covid pose when everyone deemed vulnerable has had two vaccines and most other people have had at least one? We were told that children’s education was a priority. The overzealous enforcement of
self-isolation (report, June 29)
suggests otherwise. Kevin Wright   SIR – On Monday evening we learnt that a pupil in Year One had tested positive for Covid-19. The child is a member of a bubble of 35 pupils, all of whom are now required to self-isolate for 10 days. The disruption to children, their parents and teachers is significant, and out of proportion to the risk.
