Tiger ready to pounce in the BRC Sires Posted by: RS NewsWire+ at 12:35pm on 28/5/2021
Tiger Of Malay will be out to deliver Golden Slipper-winning trainers Michael and Richard Freedman another juvenile feature.
A change of fortune at the barrier draw could be the impetus Tiger Of Malay needs to rediscover his best form in the BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes at Eagle Farm.
The Pago Pago Stakes placegetter has had no luck with gates this preparation, drawing eight of nine when down the track in the ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes at Randwick and eight of 10 in the Champagne Classic at Doomben where he finished fifth.
Freedman brothers continue perfect 2YO record Posted by: Mediality Racing+ at 1:50pm on 23/1/2021
The Freedman brothers have continued their affinity with the progeny of first season sire Extreme Choice, producing Stay Inside for a powerhouse debut win at Randwick.
The colt was just the second juvenile Michael and Richard Freedman have saddled up in Sydney this season and both have won.
Tiger Of Malay, also by Extreme Choice, took out the Kirkham Plate for the stable in October.
Michael Freedman said it was a pity Extreme Choice had fertility issues, producing just 48 live foals from his first crop, as his progeny had shown good ability.

Levante in the Westbury Classic (Ellerslie R3)
Wins don t come much bigger than that of Levante s over the ditch at Ellerslie in the G2 Westbury Classic. The Ken Kelso-trained daughter of Proisir looked like she was in all sorts of bother at the 600m mark when dead-last in the 10-horse field, with plenty of lengths to make up and seemingly having hit a flat spot. But Collett then swung her out to the middle of the track upon straightening and asked Levante for the ultimate effort. It took a bit of riding to get her going but once she hit top gear the star Kiwi mare launched out of the ground to sweep past her rivals and score a surprisingly soft win
“This mare is a winner, I will say that about her,’’ Snowden said.
“She is tough, she has a lot of fight in her, and in her last two wins in particular, she has had to dig deep but has been coming away again on the line.
“Adrian Layt has been riding her well and keeps the mount again. We have been happy with her work and she should be hard to beat.’’
