Dismissing russia s plans to call up more troops, making it clear that the results as well of these referenda planned in occupied ukrainian territory will not be recognized on the world stage. cnn s barbara starr joins me now from the pentagon. for months now we have heard from officials and other observers that the russian president would not dare to mobilize nationally because he doesn t have the public support for t here we have him doing so at least partially as some have described t i wonder what the response is from the pentagon. well, i think they re watching to see if it actually happens. if putin can carry through on this promise. just think about the supply lines, food, fuel, spare parts that would be necessary, vehicles to get that number of troops into eastern ukraine anytime soon and to be able to support them to operate on the battlefield. that is a very tall order. it is not to say that russia doesn t have considerable military power and capacity it

You ask them, is that the bill you couldn t support? he says something, well it was on the negotiating table. he didn t quite throw his support behind it, and yet his white house and people are out there every day defending it, using his name. it is a weird sort of dichotomy between, what is it that he he stands for? what policies is he pushing because things are being pushed in his name and they are being attached to him. tucker: pushed by people who do not share his views. t i wonder, mollie, if the republican leadership isn t too trusting that he will putt into law the things that he ran on. they do not agree with him on core issues. also, he talked about how the bill was based on the principles he laid out, and speaker paul ryan s office immediately got that out on social media. they are trying to tie themselves to trump because they think it will help them pass t this bill. but so much during the campaign, he was talking about the failures of obamacare.
