Korea Mart Asian market in Mesa goes out of business

After four years in business, Korea Mart supermarket in Mesa is closed. Korea Mart had been open at Three Fountains Plaza, 1350 S. Longmore, since 2017. Owner Seong Lee told The Arizona Republic that his store was losing business to  too much competition nearby. There are several Asian and international grocery stores near Korea Mart, including Asiana Market, AZ International Marketplace and Mekong Supermarket. In 2020, H Mart described on its website as the largest Asian supermarket chain in America moved in 3 miles north of Korea Mart. Lee told The Republic he does not have plans to start another business due to his financial situation.
