the mayors of some of the biggest and bluest cities joins us this hour. this hour of cnn this morning starts right now. and morning the pressure is mounting for the supreme court to step in after maine joined colorado in throwing donald trump off the ballot. just like the colorado supreme court maine s top election official deciding trump engaged in an insurrection on january 6th and should be disqualified under the constitution. it is unprecedented. no secretary of state has ever deprived a presidential candidate of ballot access based on section 3 of the 14th amendment. but no presidential candidate has ever engaged in insurrection. trump s attorneys are vowing to appeal. we are waiting to see if the supreme court will take up that historic ruling in colorado which of course could have an impact in maine and keeping a close watch on oregon. a decision there could be coming soon in another major lawsuit also trying to disqualify trump on the same grounds. katelyn

in a statement to cnn, the attorney says no one tells us anything which is very frustrating. president trump is basing his response on press reports and the fact that this is a political prosecution and the d.a. leaks things to the press instead of communicating to the lawyers as they should. now, this drama began earlier today on trump s truth social page after predicting his arrest on tuesday, the former president urged his supporters to quote, take back our nation. and tonight his campaign is already fundraising off of his claims, which have not been confirmed. there is no indication that he will be arrested tuesday. sources tell me and my colleague that trump s legal team has gotten no word from the manhattan district attorney s office about the timing of any possible indictment. another source says the former president has been pushing his team to get the base riled up over the idea because he believes it would help him politically. cnn is following the latest developmen
