LAFAYETTE, Ind. Nearly 4 pounds of pot and $53K in cash will cost Darryl Britt Evans 15 years of his life, eight of which will be spent in prison, according to a sentence handed down Friday.
Jurors from Evans trial in late April convicted him of unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent offender, dealing marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance, two counts of neglect of a dependent. He also was convicted of being an habitual offender.
Special Judge Thomas Busch sentenced Evans, 33, of Lafayette, Friday in Tippecanoe Superior 2.
Evans will spend eight years in prison, followed by three years on community correction supervision, followed by four years of supervised probation, according to the prosecutor s office.
