Times’s
only problem, because
there have been at least two scientifically credible
findings that have been reported alleging that this
coronavirus had actually occurred in Europe before December
2019. (As will be noted below, the
Wall Street
Journal’s article noted that “WHO Director-General
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that the U.N. agency
hadn’t ruled out any hypothesis. ‘I want to clarify that
all hypotheses remain open and require further study,’ he
said in a meeting with diplomats on Thursday.” But the
NYT seems to have been determined to provide its
readers a contrary impression.)
The
Times’s
article stated that
Since 2015,
police officers have fatally shot at least 135 unarmed Black
men and women nationwide, an NPR investigation has found.
NPR reviewed police, court and other records to examine the
details of the cases. At least 75% of the officers were
white. The latest one happened this month in Killeen, Texas,
when Patrick Warren Sr., 52, was fatally shot by an officer
responding to a mental health call.
For at
least 15 of the officers …, the shootings were not their
first or their last, NPR found. They have been involved
in two sometimes three or more shootings, often
deadly and without consequences.
In
fact:
On January 19th, The Daily Poster which is by far the
best news-source reporting on the Biden Administration
headlined “Biden Lifts Health Care
Plan From Insurance Lobbyists” and reported that the
health-care plan that President Joe Biden will be proposing
was written by the lobbyists for the mega-health-insurance
companies and will include no public option and will include
“Nightmare Deductibles And Widespread Claim Denials.”
It’s all explained in their news-report. That’s not the
type of ‘news’ billionaire-owned-and-controlled
‘news’-media provide. Those mainstream media are just
Democratic Party or Republican Party propaganda, because
both Parties are controlled by the fewer-than-a-thousand
U.S. Trade Deficits Increase from Covid
January 19th, 2021
Eric Zuesse
America’s trade deficit (excess of imports minus exports) reached its minimum in February 2020, and since then has increased 84% from February’s -3708, up to November s -6812. America has one of the world’s highest rates of coronavirus-19, or Covid-19, infection, and therefore is less productive and more needy than most countries are, during the coronavirus crisis, and is consequently importing more and producing less. The reverse has generally been the case for the countries that have had good policy-responses to the virus those countries’ economies have either been virtually unharmed by, or else have actually boomed from, this pandemic.
Remarkably, Gallup
doesn’t poll in China on this question. (Nor does
Pew.)
Notably, Trump is more disapproved-of in Europe
than in any other part of the world. (Also, as Pew reported
on 16 December 2020, “In
Europe, more trust Putin than Trump.”)
Those
percentage-changes that we’ve just shown total to a
decline, among all 60 countries, of 121 percentage-points
(-121%), or, almost exactly, a -2% change from the 2019
findings that had been reported in Gallup’s “Rating
World Leaders: 2020”.
Gallup says that “until
all of Gallup’s 2020 fieldwork is complete in a few
months, it is still too early to say that the U.S. will see
