daniel sandford reports. daybreak this morning revealed the devastation wreaked by the fire in wennington on the far east edge of london. homes, cars, businesses all consumed by flames that had appeared almost out of nowhere in the blistering heat of yesterday afternoon. london s fire brigade had been stretched to the limit. it was incredibly busy, incredibly challenging. people were physically exhausted after an incredibly hard. after an incredibly hard day. that continued throughout the night and we had resources throughout the night planning for the next few days as well to make sure we d got days as well to make sure we ve got all the cover and resources we need. but it was not just wennington. this was dagenham, just down the road, where a fire swept in from a nearby park. away from my house, there s a fire, and it s got gas things. this afternoon, we could see prefab houses that had apparently melted in the heat. around a small close,
according to mcgraw s testimony, the school radios, even if arredondo had one on him and he didn t, wouldn t have worked in the schools either. the radios that the school officers use do not actually work inside the school. they didn t have other basic protections including a knox box, that s something located outside many public buildings that are not attended 4 hours a day, a specialty box that can be unlocked by first responders, firefighters, emts, police. they contain the master keys for a building so if there s a fire, somebody trapped inside, they have the ability to go in and don t have to wait for somebody as apparently was not here. the reason mcgraw s testimony and the information coming out today is so important based on that timeline. there were six shots fired by the shooter after police chief peter aaron done dough showed up
had no compeapacity, no communication, no situational awareness of what was going on and this was indeed an active shooter situation. i mean, to make that judgment call that all the kids in the room were dead, essentially, i m assuming that s what he thought is just not a judgment call you make. because you don t see it. you haven t seen it for yourself. it s like there s a fire, you get rid of it. i mean if that s the way it works you re not making calculations like that. like you said maybe he doesn t know the phone calls were made or there s kids that are injured that could have been saved. and that s the that s the incomprehensible part of this. but it s the best it s the most understandable explanation as we get more. and it will change. i literally have like 10, 20 seconds left. what does accountability look like to you in this case?
too because you know, the disinformation board i mean that something finally died faster than cnn plus so they can take some solace in that, i suppose. i think i m glad that we got that clip up herere becausese there s this fundamental absurdity ur that you do have to really say, which is that theyim claim that it s supposedth disinformation about the disinformation board that shut it down, which is likeform i mean it s like if there s a fire, a newep fire department that was setar p in your town and then you had a fire at your house and you call the fire department w and said, well, screw that , we re closing. we can t help you. that s the whole reason that you re here, right. is for this is the disinformation board supposed to be there toooa shut down this information, the first piece of disinformation you should be able to shutyo down and expoe is the disinformation about the board itself. but of course,e,se we know that when they say disinformation, they mean not disinformation but
serious people are doing what she s doing as well. the other day i heard obama say the same thing pretty said i m free speech absolutist. you can t say things that aren true. that s the whole idea, you can say things that aren t true. i m sick of hearing the phrase about the theater. you can t yell fire and a theater. yes, you can. you can yell fire and a theater for many reasons, for one, when there s a fire and the theater, to when you think there s a fir and the theater. you re allowed to say things, s you re allowed to be wrong and just like you said, when obama said something, when we used to do shows, obama would say something and we would say no, we disagree with him and that s the answer. you re allowed to say things that aren t true. i think these people have faile before they begun. this thing is idiotic and i don t think anyone will take it seriously. i m celebrating that i feel lik this disinformation has failed before it s begun.
