look i thought that was a very compelling part of this unusually engaging press conference mixing personal and political. it was compelling in two respects. i think it was the most resonant argument he could have made that a country and government is better off treating people equally equating it to the u.s. struggle for rights across racial lines. it was interesting and he did the same thing on corruption. he made the case for changing the way kenya treats its gay residents, not out of a case of u.s. success but u.s. failure. he talked about how we were imperfect and how it took us a while to get to a better place. he did the same thing on corruption. he talked about the example in chicago of his hometown going back to the 1920s and 30s. it was less lecturing from the mountain top and more saying we are on a common journey. an argument that would be more
