poorly, really. i really don t. normally i should say, like, they were all terrible, everybody. right? [ laughter ] but you noticed the quality of all the candidates? how did ben carson do? i thought he was good. they didn t ask him that many questions. he didn t have a lot of air time, but i thought he was good. he was right next to me. just curious. so you were very critical of ben carson on the campaign trail last week. went after him. but last night, seemed to keep the gloves off. i don t want to be critical. i like him, to start off with. i don t want to be critical, but last night they were asking questions. and ben and i have gotten very long over the period of time. i ve become friends with a lot of the people up there. some very good people up there. is ben carson qualified to be president of the united states? i don t want to say. that s not for me to say. would you let him run one of your companies? i would let him operate on a
for months, arguably years. and just last week she warned the white house that she soon would be announcing her position. her current chief rival bernie sanders has been a vocal opponent of the pipeline for months. and i can tell you when she was at state, it was widely assumed she wouldn t stand in the way of the pipeline. so in some ways this feels like a switch since she s on the campaign trail. of course, she never went on the record at the time. we ll be right back. just might be the one. to clean the oceans, to start a movement, or lead a country.
[inaudible conversations] she was in the hamptons, though, because the house they represented was $100,000. that was probably not the middle class how are they making so many mistakes? i remember the days when bill and hillary were president, and remember they polled to figure out where they should go on vacation, where the people wanted to see them go, and it was within the 50 states, it was a midwestern state, maybe it was colorado. that seems to be, i don t know, absent now. they re tone deaf. and she has tried to talk about other issues like incarcerations and ending the era of incarceration. it hasn t worked. she can t change the subject. i think you re also underestimating what she s doing in the hamptons. that s where her money comes from. all the hedge fund billionaires love to support her. she is raising money. she s on the campaign trail, she just happens to be doing it from a house that costs $100,000 for two weeks. they have lovely $40 cobb salads in the hamptons
she had the one episode as secretary of state so people did want to see this question i read the letter. she seems fine when she s out campaigning. i think it was smart of them to put that letter out early. on a friday afternoon document dump but i do think it was smart to get that out, try to eliminate any questions. she does seem very active and healthy when she s on the campaign trail. so i think that at this point they probably will have answered all of those health questions. did we learn everything from the e-mails except forgive me, i guess all politicians, you see this in even the best politicians maybe it s a little bit of insecurity, but the constant e-mails from aides saying how great you are and how wonderful you are. maybe that s why she wanted a private server hoping some of these never came out. she s been so dogged by this perception that she s so private and she s not being very open both with the press and the public so i think you re right that just getting all
said she will do it. obviously the benghazi committee wants her up there. they re going back and forth because frankly transzfrancis, this is a political battle. it s not really over the substance of the allegations. she wants her testimony out in public so everybody can hear it. the benghazi committee has asked for private testimony. they will straighten it out and she will testify this fall but will be getting very close to the initial primaries if that happens. what would that be nearly a year out from election day, because as we ve seen she s on the campaign trail, but every time batches of these e-mails come out she ll have to dodge questions and find ways to address them and reopen that every time it happens. reporters will continue to ask her about it clearly the benghazi committee will continue to ask her about it. it s somewhat of an obsession between republican parties at this point. i don t think this will be a defined issue for hillary clinton on the campaign trail. tho
