Both disturbing and depressing…perfect for a COVID world.
What They Say:
Ganta is the only survivor after a mysterious man in red slaughters a classroom full of teenagers. He’s framed for the carnage, sentenced to die, and locked away in the most twisted prison ever built: Deadman Wonderland. And then it gets worse.
At Deadman Wonderland, convicts are forced into brutal death matches for the amusement of the masses, the cheers of the crowd drowning out the screams of the dismembered. Even when Ganta befriends Shiro, an unusual female inmate, his dark fate crushes all hope – until he discovers the strange ability to wield his spilled blood as a weapon. Ganta learns his new skill might be related to the murderous man in red and uncovers disturbing secrets that could expose those who stole his freedom. He’s determined to see justice served – but first he’ll have to fight for his life in a prison that holds a million ways to die.

Ashiya’s tale continues as he works off that debt.

High school student Ashiya is just getting the hang of his unusual life as a yokai exorcist’s assistant when a foolish mishap sends him to the Underworld. It’s time to meet the Executive and the Justice, and all the trouble that comes with them!
The Review:
Audio:
The audio presentation brings us the original Japanese language track in stereo while the English dub is done up in 5.1, both of which are encoded using the Dolby TrueHD lossless codec. Though the series has a few moments where it plays a bit bigger than the rest of it, the bulk of the show is straightforward dialogue material. There are some nice little incidental moments of sound effects and music that gives it a bit more life, but it’s largely the back and forth between the cast. That doesn’t help the 5.1 mix out in a big way but both tracks handle the source material well to give it a lived-in feeling and plenty of placement and directiona

It took a few years but we recently got the word that Funimation was able to start rolling out more dubbed
One Piece. The first round of new episodes landed with a June 2020 debut for episodes 575 through 587 dubbed and it’s been continuing on since with a couple more batches and slowly but surely filling out the 10th season home video releases as well as streaming.
Recently, Funimation has revealed that the next batch of episodes, encompassing episodes 655 through 667 will mark the continuation of the 11th season/voyage releases and will be on Blu-ray for the first time. These episodes have now gone live digitally through selector vendors and Funimation has brought out a new trailer to celebrate it.
