Erath County alcohol proposition to be on November ballot

Erath County alcohol proposition to be on November ballot E-T staff report An effort to gather more than 4,400 signatures to call an alcohol election in Erath County was deemed a success by a local group of business owners. A petition with the signatures was submitted to the County Clerk s in June, and the Erath County Commissioners Court has ordered a Nov. 2, 2021, election for the proposition.  According to information from Texas Petition Strategies, the proposition to be submitted to voters would create one set of rules throughout the county supporting alcohol sales in area establishments. A group of local business owners and community leaders also supports expansion of current sales to include fine wine and package stores.

TLOW presents petition opposing solar farm abatement to commissioners court Brownwood Bulletin TLOW (Texas Landowners Opposing Wind) presented Brown Commissioners Court members Monday with a petition with 1,688 signatures of residents who oppose a possible tax abatement for a solar farm project near Brookesmith. TLOW member Jeff Tucker said the count was ongoing, with the verified count as of Monday morning at 1,668 verified as Brown County residents. TLOW was initially formed in response to wind farms and has gone on to state its opposition to a potential tax abatements for solar farms in Brown County. Tucker provided a breakdown of the signatures, which were collected by Texas Petition Strategies of Buda:
