Robert Earl Keen to headline Starlight Ranch s first Fourth of July celebration AGN Media Country music legend Robert Earl Keen is set to headline a Fourth of July celebration at the Starlight Ranch Event Center at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 3. More than decades on from the release of his debut album, 1984 s No Kinda Dancer, the Houston native now has 19 records to his name, thousands of shows under his belt and still no end in sight to the road ahead. Keen s music spans folk, country, bluegrass and rock, but he is most commonly affiliated with the Americana genre. He has toured extensively both in the U.S. and abroad throughout his career, and was inducted into the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2012 along with Lyle Lovett and the late Townes Van Zandt, according to his website www.robertearlkeen.com.

Delbert McClinton To Perform in Lake Charles in July The Godfather of American Music, and he s coming to perform in Lake Charles in July. Dilbert and myself share a birthday. He was born in Lubbock on November 4, 1940. He moved to Los Angeles in 1972 and hit it big. Fast-forward to 1978, and he had his first number one song writing credit with Emmylou Harris recording Two More Bottles of Wine. That same year, a cover of his song B Movie Boxcar Blues was on the first Blues Brothers album. McClinton will take the Grand Event Center stage at the Golden Nugget on Saturday July, 24 at 8:00pm.
