landed and touched down at joint base andrews just outside of washington not too long ago. then, this is his first trip over to the united states. certainly a historic moment. after removing his cap, he walked down the steps of the plane to a boisterous and booming crowd, who had been anticipating this moment for quite some time. president obama, first lady, and his daughters were there to greet him. this is a rarity, because presidents usually wait for visitors to come to them at the white house. also met by a military honor guard, politicians and clergy, among many other religious on the runway. the vatican selected four children from different catholic schools in the d.c. area to also greet the holy father. francis left andrews in a fiat, that was the car of choice. from there he headed off to the residence, as you mentioned. right now he s on his way headed to what s considered to be the vatican embassy here in washington. it s going to be a very busy day tomorrow. that s
