Terry Eugene Michel, the Ferrum man charged with killing his two dogs, was found guilty Thursday following a nearly two day jury trial in Rocky Mount. The jury heard a defense expert testify that Terry Michel suffered from PTSD and depression and may have had a dissociative event when he shot the two Labradors, but ultimately sided with the prosecution.
A Franklin County Circuit Court grand jury will decide next month whether Terry Eugene Michel will stand trial for felony animal cruelty and filing a false police report in the deaths of his Labrador retrievers, Caleb and Colby.
Terry Michel has been held in Western Virginia Regional Jail following his arrest Feb. 16 in connection to the death of his two black labs, Caleb and Colby.
