Ex-Dutchess County corrections sergeant sentenced for killing ex-wife

A former Dutchess County corrections sergeant has been sentenced for the killing of his ex-wife.
Timothy Alexander was sentenced in Dutchess County Court Monday morning to 25 years to life.
He was convicted in April of fatally stabbing 34-year-old Terrie DeGelormo outside her Wappingers Falls home back in 2018.
The two had a son who is now 22 months old.
DeGelormo s mother spoke to reporters shortly after the sentence was handed down. I m just glad that justice was served. It s not going to bring back my daughter, At least now, he ll pay, she said.
