[applause] i am taking them with me and framing them in my house. his strength comes from an engine of vulnerability. katie: engine of result ribblet. his strength comes from an engine of vulnerability. he is a man i admire because he is not afraid to show it. katie: that is right. jake. would you like me to leave? thanks. katie: wait a second. up next more with the prisoners cast viola davis, terence howard and maria bello
with their grief and anish after their daughters go missing. these photos are better than the ones my husband gave you. you can see her eyes more clearly. sorry. i am so sorry. do you have children, detective? i am go to find your daughter. katie: please welcome viola davis and terence howard and lden globe nominee maria bello. [applause]
katie: it is true. hugh mentioned it, you are only as good as your narrative and your partner and as the people around you. but also it is like terence howard said, it shows the full range of emotion of what you go through or what you would go through if your child was taken in a way that is very honest and unapologetic. katie: and uncomfortablely intimate. truth is always uncomfortable. katie: maria, you get cast as hugh jackman s wife. and there were not many opportunities for romance, were there? were you so bummed out. even your wife apologized. i am sorry. i know it is a bummer. katie: i heard you are the jokester and you would play instruments to cut the tension,
relationship with your daughter as a way of really getting it through. absolutely. before i became a parent i probably would have, you know, done some type of exercise in acting to get into the role. but now that i have a kid, i am telling you, the first thing that you feel as a parent is that you want to protect your child. that is the first thing that you feel. i always say the next spot is that you have no control over it. you have no control over it when your kid goes to school. you know that is how you feel in this movie, helpless. katie: luckily some families have to deal with this situation. but i think the beginning of the movie everyone has been in a situation, every parent where there is that momentary panic where you can t find your child or you are in a store or you lose sight of them or they don t come home right away or you can t reach them and you just freeze. terence, you played the father.
