The Tennessee Department of Correction needs more correctional officers. Across the state, they’re looking to hire at least 600 people to fill the positions.
Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee on Friday granted clemency to 23 people, including a woman convicted of first-degree murder for her involvement in the death of a motel worker more than 20 years ago.
Cell phones, drugs and flash drives have all been confiscated from people trying to enter or visit a Tennessee Department of Correction prison. All those items are considered contraband.
