Thank you for the opportunity to address you at what is a critical moment for the future of internet. More than anything else, the action that you take today will preserve the permissionless invasion invasion. Let me explain. The web was invented 25 years ago. To people and let them run on computers which were connected to the internet. All that was necessary for those computers were plugged in to internet. They were then communicating. Didnt have to ask anybodys permission. Frome1 this, the worldwide web spread to reach all the corners of the global and connected world, enabling hundreds of billions of dollars of Economic Growth and enhanced free speech and democracy around the world. Didnt have to get permission from anybody to introduce a thing. I didnt have to pay isp and special fees. I didnt have to convince c should be let through. If it would be good for their business. I didnt have to worry they would block it because it was compete competing with the businesses they have. So,
Along our constitutional lines between the executive branch and outside of that. Host is there a spectrum crunch . Guest theres certainly a lot of demand for spectrum and we stopped making spectrum a long time ago. There isnt any more so were having to come up with ways of accommodating all the various uses. Certainly, the growth of cellular has been astronomical. Were continuing to look for ways to provide that portion of our community more spectrum. Unlicensed use has grown tremendously. The advent, for instance of wifi was a huge expansion in the amount of consumer use and so on of unlicensed operations. But the federal government use is i growing also is growing also. The federal agencies have are lots of different kinds of operations so while in a cell phone band everything in that band is basically cell phones, maybe at some different point of their evolution and technology standpoint, but theyre basically all cell phonesment they pack them together, its very uniform. And i do think that we are stymied in some areas because we have made political controversy or made partisan really things that are no brainers that such as health care or trying to reduce Maternal Mortality. There are so many things we can agree on, ending violence against women. You have to have more involvement in men. You should not politicize these things. It took us too long to reauthorize the violence against women act here in this country. We know that to have legislation like this helps fight violence against women. And everybody wins. So im hoping that we can through hard core data and knowing more about these issues there will be less partisanshi
