CAL FIRE gets new Mobile Kitchen Unit
CAL FIRE s Tehama-Glenn Unit got a new Moblie Kitchen Unit that will be able to feed up to 2,500 people at emergency incidents.

TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. - CAL FIRE received a new Mobile Kitchen Unit, MKU, for its Tehama-Glenn Unit, according to CAL FIRE.
The MKU will be used to feed staff who are at emergency incidents such as fires, floods and earthquakes.
The units are brought to fire camps each California fire season.
The new MKU, which is replacing an old unit, is 50 feet long and has eight convection ovens, eight warmer cabinets, three tilt skillets, stovetop, refrigerator and steam line.

In 2017, Colorado-based United Rotorcraft was awarded a contract to provide Cal Fire with a dozen specially modified Sikorsky S-70i helicopters, designated by the agency as Cal Fire Hawks, as replacements for the agency’s legacy Super Huey fleet. The initial contract was for a single aircraft, with options for 11 more.
