Washington [US], July 16 (ANI): Actor Robert Downey Jr, widely known for playing Tony Stark or Iron Man, has landed his next starring role. The actor is set to star in and produce the drama series based on Viet Thanh Nguyen s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Sympathizer .
As per Variety, the best-selling debut espionage thriller The Sympathizer is getting the silver screen treatment at HBO from A24.
Park Chan-wook, director of 2003 s Oldboy and 2016 s The Handmaiden , will serve as co-showrunner with Don McKellar. Filming is set to take place in Los Angeles and in Vietnam.
