major ones, lord and taylor, nordstrom, macy s and jc penney. hundreds of officers descended on that mall. reporter: police don t know the identities of those killed. they don t have a motive. they are just a couple of hours into this. three dead, one of those that is dead was found near a gun and ammunition. the working assumption is that this person came in, shot the two other people and then turned the gun on him or herself. that s the assumption right now. they are still conducting interviews. that is what they are going off from the mall here. as far as the situation right now, there are still people sheltering in place. local police chief said unfortunately people are learning what to do in these situations. they knew to shelter in police, put a barricade around them and remain as quiet as possible until the threat passed. police officers are now going through this mall store to store, finding people who had responsibly sheltered in place, telling them it is safe to c
