FLEMINGTON, NJ - Flemington councilman Christopher Runion estimates that residents will save up to $100 a year on electric rates now that the borough has joined the Hunterdon Area Energy Cooperative.
The council approved an ordinance to join the program that includes 16 municipalities throughout Hunterdon County, and parts of Mercer and Morris counties. The borough already belongs to such a program for its municipal energy usage.
The Hunterdon Area Energy Cooperative acts as a broker to find the best electric rate for residents of the16 municipalities it represents with an emphasis on providing both low rates and more renewal energy sources than a rate payer would normally receive if shopping for rates on their own.

FLEMINGTON, NJ - Thanks to the efforts and foresight of a Hunterdon County 11th grade student and his family, the Flemington Area Food Pantry is well-equipped for 2021 and beyond with a green initiative to power parts of its facility using solar energy.

State Senator Dick Codey (D-27) sponsored S-2781, which requires school districts to provide instruction on diversity and inclusion as part of the implementation of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards in Comprehensive Health and Physical Education for students in grades 9 through 12.
