One thing hasn’t changed in the 25 years I’ve been writing about the visual and performing arts in Wellington - people from galleries ask me for theatre recommendations, while theatregoers ask about exhibitions. Looks on their faces suggest they consider the other respective arts scene like some other country. Even in this creative crucible of a city I’m often struck by how different audiences can be. And how many different cultural scenes there are.
