Taipei, July 15 (CNA) The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) released a report on Thursday by the New Taipei City Government about the case of En En (恩恩), a 2-year-old who died of COVID-19, and raised several points it said it would seek further clarification on.
Taipei, May 3 (CNA) An annual Eid al-Fitr celebration organized by the Taipei City government will take place on Sunday after a two-year hiatus, but visitors will have to show proof of at least two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine to gain entry into the event's main areas.
The Taipei City Government yesterday extended its subsidies for residents staying at designated COVID-19 disease prevention hotels in the city for quarantine or isolation.
The subsidy program was scheduled to end yesterday, but as the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) has announced a modified quarantine policy for inbound travelers, the city extended the program to encourage residents to isolate or quarantine in hotels, the Taipei Department of Information and Tourism said.
People can apply for a subsidy of NT$500 per day for up to a total of NT$5,000 for 10 days according to the program, which would be under rolling review,
The Taipei City Government has been accused of using public funds to glorify a mayoral hopeful, after it last week published a book lauding the city’s COVID-19 response for more than NT$3,000 (US$107.06) per copy.
Critics on Sunday decried the book, titled <i>Record of Resilience: Documenting Taipei’s Pandemic Response</i> (堅韌的疫誌 台北市防疫紀實), as an attempt to pave the way to city hall for Taipei Deputy Mayor Vivian Huang (黃珊珊).

The Taipei Lantern Festival was aglow at its opening on Friday, with lantern installations highlighting Taiwan’s international friendships.
