the republican mantra will be is the economy stupid. last year the president took a number of executive actions but as he did this was able to circumvent congress. but this is a republican-controlled congress. they have anned a adversarial relationship. one of the big questions for this year is what are we going to be talking about? because republicans, for example, have for years been talking about the economy and jobs in congress. speaker boehner, one of his favorite taglines is where are the jobs? but now the economy is improving and unemployment is down. so what are we going to be talking about in 2015?
