At 2-5 entering the game, Stuttgart’s match up with Lonoke was a must-win for the Ladybirds to have any hope of climbing into the top half of the 5-4A conference.
The Birds trailed 11-4 after the first quarter, largely due to six first-quarter points from Lonoke’s Kayleigh Thompson. Thompson scored 14 points for the game.
Stuttgart closed the gap to 17-14 by half time. Katherine Payton led all scorers in the first half with seven points. The junior continues to provide steady play in the post for Coach Allison Handy.
