great to have you on. what stands out to you in this new package of weaponry that the u.s. administration announced yesterday in terps of what you re seeing the russian troops amass there in the southeastern region of the country? well, it is obviously going to turn into a much heavier fight and it is very good news indeed that the biden administration is stepping up with congress to provide the capabilities they re going to need for the next phase of the war, the heavy artillery, the switch blade drones, the anti-ship cruise missiles, the support vehicles, the radar, et cetera. and this is hugely important, but i want to remind everybody 15 years ago, we were spending $300 million a day in the war in iraq. now, true, this $800 million package is fantastic news. but still, all told, we only spent the equivalent of eight days of the war in iraq
jerusalem. foreign minister saying he was horrified, calling them war crimes. naftali bennett saying the images shocked him but failed to blame or even mention russia. the kremlin had denied it was behind the atrocities in bucha. and they need russia s support to strike targets in syria. as time goes on and evidence of alleged war crimes grow, israel s leadership is finding it hard to maintain balance between competing strategic interests and morality. so the united states sent 100 of these switch blade drones to the ukrainian military according to the defense department. the small so-called kamikaze drones detonate on impact and can hit a target up to 20 miles away. joining us now is time magazine contributor kim dozer.
add. the pentagon told us they are cutting red tape and increasing a response to requests from the forces on the ground. what the switch blade drones are good for is small special operations units can use them to take out tanks. as you might remember, the switch blade drones are you justifier them once and they are suicide bombers that hit an armored vehicle and can take it out. they can loiter in the air for a long time before hitting it so this is to increase the lethality of what u.s. officials and some european officials are telling us the best parts and most effective parts of the ukrainian military. their ability to take out armored personnel carriers, tanks that the russians are using against them. now this can t be used to take out artillery, but it still is one of the major ways to take troops off the battlefield. i guess my larger question here, i ve wondered this every
