too many people are not taking this storm seriously enough? well, north carolina has had dsh this is now our third hurricane in less than three years. wow. so we can t let familiarity contest our judgment here. sure. we need to make sure that we are making smart decisions. i believe that the people of north carolina understand firsthand the dangers that come with the storms. i believe that we are ready. we have significant number of saerch rescue teams, wift water rescue teams. we even have teams in from other states to help us. we are working closely with the coast guard. we are ready at a moment s notice to save people who may get into situations where they are being flooded out. right. we hope this thing moves quickly and out to sea quickly. but we know that at least part of our state is going to get it.

of it. the sheriff says he is prepared for the worst and he has got the resources he needs. listen. the state has been real good. they have a lot of resources already staged. fp and l power company have a tremendous amount of assets all right. 130 national guard troops close to where my office is over there they are already being staged. high water rescue vehicles. swift water rescue teams. we have the assets if it s going to be bad. griff: people came off of a nice labor day weekend. it s going to start changing when they wake up today. and if you just look out at the ocean starting to get angry, this is 100 miles out. depending on the track that this storm takes, they are definitely going to be impacted. it s a bings of what combinati, the storm surge and what likely will be flooding and of course the beach erosion here in this part of south florida that could be catastrophic, depending on dorian s path.

rescue teams that have been deployed there. they re in the process of trying to get behind the trees in the distance there. there are a number of people who have been rescued. several people inside homes who need to be rescued, and a short while ago, a family was pulled out. four adults, two children. they came brought out in a heavy duty truck that sits very high above the water. that s how they were able to drive out of there. we have seen the swiftwater rescue teams launch one boat. these guys are waiting to see if they re needed to launch into this area, but generally a small creek, but you can see how far and wide the flood waters are here this morning, jim. a good mile down this road on elm street where we re standing is under water. we saw the swiftwater rescue boat kind of go down into the middle of this street and hook a right into those tree lines where the home is that they re in the process of trying to check out right now. no word on exactly when they re going to be back.
